On mange quoi aujourd'hui chez Maryline?

Tavva (Cypriot recipe:baked lamb with potatoes, onions and tomatoes)

for 4 persons



500g of diced lamb

1  tin of 400g of chopped tomatoes

1 big onion

1 tsp of cumin seeds

1 tsp of cinnamon

4 big potatoes

olive oil, salt and pepper


  1. Brown the lamb in olive oil
  2. Dice the onion and fry gently in olive oil
  3. Peel the potatoes and dice in small quarter
  4. Put in a casserole dish the lamb, the onion, the potatoes, the tin of tomatoes, the cumin seeds and cinnamon
  5. Add 200 ml of warm water
  6. Season and put in the oven for 2 to 2 hours and a half on medium temperature.
