On mange quoi aujourd'hui chez Maryline?

Beef Stew in Guinness

Beef Stew in a Stout sauce

for 4 persons

   

 

 

1kg of Stewing Beef chunks

1 litre of stout

1 onion

2 garlic cloves

2 carrots

75 g of diced unsmoked bacon

a handful of button mushrooms

25 g of plain flour

1 bouquet garni

butter, salt, pepper

 

  1. Slice the onion and crush the garlic cloves
  2. Peel the carrots and slice them thinly
  3. Melt some butter in a casserole dish and brown the meat
  4. Put the meat aside
  5. Melt some more butter and gently brown the onion, garlic, diced bacon, mushrooms and carrots
  6. Add the meat to the dish and sprinkle the flour. Mix.
  7. Pour the stout in and add the bouquet garni.
  8. Season.
  9. Simmer on medium heat for 3 hours or gently cook the stew in an ovenproof casserole dish for 3 hours, therm 150°.

 

Serve with a buttery Mash
